I wish I knew this

Grok Bot works while your laptop is closed

Routines tell a Bot when to run a job, and they run in the cloud, so your laptop can stay shut. A morning email brief is a good first routine.

  1. Ask for a schedule in plain words, like "every weekday at 8:00 AM".
  2. Or start a routine when something happens: an email, a Slack message or a webhook call.
  3. Open the routine and check When to run. It shows the saved schedule in words.
  4. A new routine waits for its next scheduled time. Use Test to try it right away.

iPhone

Talk to your Bot with one button

Grok Bot can be set as your iPhone's Action Button. Press it to talk with your Bot.

  1. Set Grok Bot as your Action Button, then press it to start talking.
  2. No Action Button? Open a chat and, with the composer empty, tap Start voice chat.
  3. Close the app when you're done. Work continues in the cloud.
  4. Turn on notifications to hear when a Bot has a result, a question or an approval request.

The iPhone app needs iOS 18 or later; Android needs Android 9 or later.

I wish I knew this

Stop copy-pasting between your AI bots

Grok Bots can message each other, share context in group chats and pass a task along, so you aren't the go-between.

  1. Give each Bot one job. A named Bot keeps its memory, files and preferences across sessions.
  2. Run several Bots in parallel and add them to a group chat to share context.
  3. Let a Bot hand a task to the Bot that owns that job.

Email + Calendar

Connect Gmail and Calendar, then review drafts before they send

  1. Connect apps from the sidebar (on the phone: tap your avatar, then Connect apps).
  2. Gmail can search and read mail, draft and send, and apply labels. One Gmail mailbox connects at a time.
  3. Calendar can read your calendars, check free time, create and update events, and answer invitations.
  4. When a Bot prepares an email or Slack message, you can edit the draft, then choose Send or Discard.

Computer

Your Bot has its own computer

Each Bot works on a persistent cloud computer with a browser, files and a terminal. It uses app connectors where they exist and the browser for everything else.

  1. Ask for website tasks even when no app connector exists.
  2. Open the computer from a chat to watch, or to take over for a password or two-factor code, then hand it back.
  3. Walk a Bot through a multi-step task once and it can save it as a skill to rerun on a schedule.
